I have been physically active since childhood, with my earliest experiences in movement rooted in dancing, specifically flatfooting, on the porch while my grandparents played old-time country music. As a child, I explored ballet, tap, gymnastics, and performed with marching band flags and rifles. My passion for movement continued into adulthood, where I took up running, weightlifting, and various forms of aerobics.
Inspired by a positive experience with a personal trainer and my participation in obstacle course races, I pursued certification as a personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. During this time, I discovered the Pilates method and realized it was the perfect way to integrate my life experiences, diverse educational background, and love for movement. I went on to complete comprehensive Pilates teacher training through Balanced Body. In addition to my certifications, I hold a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Counseling.
Having personally navigated challenges such as hypermobility, scoliosis, grief, depression, and autoimmune disease, I am deeply passionate about helping others prioritize their health. I encourage individuals to find movement that feels good and energizing while also embracing nutrition as a form of medicine. To me, true wellness encompasses the mind, body, and spirit—mental, emotional, social, physical, and spiritual health all play a role in overall well-being.
Beyond my work in health and fitness, I enjoy walking, swimming, dancing, reading, volunteer ministry, and spending time outdoors. Explore the Blog section for my most recent updates and thoughts as I navigate my wellness journey.
